34th Series Toyo Kogyo
Mid production 34th series:
Please note the following features of this mid production 34th series rifle:
-In general, this rifle appears exactly the same as a later 33rd series. However, this example does not have a short cleaning rod and likely never did have one installed
-Safety weld is not smoothed over on this rifle

Late production 34th series:
Later in the 34th series, Toyo Kogyo began producing their first late war models following the standard last ditch features, including a 3 piece stock, welded in place front band, and fixed rear sight. Toyo Kogyo continued to use the plum bolt handle right up until the end of production. Notice the deep red finish to the stock, which is typical of Toyo Kogyo throughout their production, especially later series.
This example is interesting due to the stock markings on the butt stock. These are more than likely a rack number, sometimes associated with naval usage.

Late production 34th series (rare variant w/ reused early war stock):
Please note the following features of this late production 34th series rifle:
-Rifle is now a last ditch pattern, with a fixed rear sight, 3 piece stock, and welded in place front barrel band
-The stock now has a large recoil bolt installed in the stock instead of a small pattern
-This example is an uncommon variant using an early pattern stock. Note the cut in the stock for a wooden butt plate (with the screw hole now filled in with a piece of wood), earlier stock proofs, a drain hole (which would have been eliminated by this point in production), a double thick wooden butt plate, and a 2 screw rear sling swivel.
Some rifles near the end of production of the 34th series reuse these early stocks and it's an uncommon variant
