1st Series Nagoya
In general, all 1st series Type 99's would have been equipped with a dust cover, long style cleaning rod, AA sights, and a monopod from the factory. Chrome bores and bolt faces would have been standard as well.

Late 1st series w/ cold weather sight lifter:
This is an interesting example of a 1st series Nagoya with a rare sold weather sight lifter attached to the rear sight. This basic sheet metal tab has been noted on early Nagoya rifles and Kokura rifles typically in the late 22nd to early 23rd series. It would seem the purpose of this tab was to assist in helping a soldier lift the rear sight with a gloved hand. While often called "Aleutian sights", due in part to the thought these were issues in conjunction with the Japanese invasion of the Aleutian Islands in 1942, there is no evidence these specially came from that region.
