Late production 8th series w/ front sight guards:
Throughout the 8th series, Nagoya randomly brought back earlier features in small groups of rifles, including the use of earlier receivers with the "Type 99" text and front sight protectors. More than likely Nagoya was using up old parts that were found until they were used up, explaining the sporadic groups of these rifles.
On this late 8th series example, you can see that Nagoya used a late style receiver and other features, but a front sight with the protectors. This small group of rifles late in the series are one of the more uncommon examples to find as most are found mid series.
