6th Series Nagoya
Early production 6th series
This rifle is an example of an early 6th series production Type 99. In general it will be very similar to a late 5th series example. Important features to note on this rifle:
-Bolt is still the early war plumb style, which would continue into the middle of the series.
-The rear sight leaf has the style to accept AA sights, but none are installed. Most likely this is 100% correct without the wings, as Nagoya was using up old parts before switching completely to the style without the attachment points.
-Screw in cleaning rod.
-No dust cover is installed. Near the end of the 5th series you start to see the dust covers disappear from rifles, so likely this example never had one installed.
-Rear barrel band does not have a monopod attachment point. Many rifles in the 6th series will still have a monopod band, however, it's unlikely any were installed on this rifles and it was likely a case of reusing old parts still on hand.

(Please note the safety and firing pin would also be numbered, but photos of those areas were not available with this rifle)
Mid production 6th series
This rifle is an example of a mid production 6th series rifle. The following features should be noted:
-The bolt is a cylindrical style. This is assumed by many to be a feature of only late war rifles by Nagoya, but the arsenal looks to have started using them in this series. Please note the safety still has the ornate, early style knurling.
-The rear sight slider on this rifle no longer has attachment points for the AA wings. This rifle never would have had these installed.
-No dust cover (correct for this rifle)
-Still uses a screw in cleaning rod

Late production 6th series:
This rifle is an example of a late production 6th series rifle. The following features should be noted:
-The bolt is still a cylindrical style. However, now the safety is a grooved style. This starts in the 6th series near the last 1/4 of production and continues into the 7th series
-The rear barrel band is no longer the split style, and is instead a solid band.
-No dust cover (correct for this rifle)
-Still uses a screw in cleaning rod
