45th series Mukden
The 45th series Type 99 made by Mukden is one of the most rare of all variants of these rifles. Production figures are unknown, but less than 3,000 are thought to have been produced based on surviving serial numbers. Known surviving examples are in the "transitional" style, meaning they do not have monopod style bands, rear sight without the attachment points for AA wings, and some with large style recoil bolts.
-Known surviving examples mainly seem to have come into the US through Chinese imports in the 1980s, and are in very rough shape. Because of this, there are a wide variety of parts on these rifles from being rebuilt by the Chinese over the course of 40 years.
-Several receivers have been reported with both Mukden and Jinsen arsenal marks on the receiver, implying that Jinsen may have helped start production at the arsenal
